KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced that doctors will be recruited without written tests. Chief Minister’s advisor Murtaza Wahab said the decision was taken to overcome the shortage of doctors in the province.

“Doctors will be recruited on the basis of interviews,” Wahab said, adding approximately 1,500 doctors will be recruited without the need to pass a written test.

According to Wahab, the decision has been taken to save time and provide relief to the masses. “Taking a test through the Sindh Public Commission is time-consuming. The cabinet has already approved the recruitment of doctors.”

The recruitment process will start immediately with experts and MBBS doctors hired on contract basis. These doctors will later have to clear the written exam.
