Lahore furniture market fire brought under control, cooling underway: officials

LAHORE: A fire that had erupted late Thursday night in a furniture market here on the city's Maulana Shaukat Ali Road was brought under control a few hours later, rescue and security authorities said.

According to rescue officials, at least 10 fire brigade vehicles had engaged in the process of controlling the blaze and eventually putting it out. While the reason for the fire could not be determined, a lot of valuable items were burnt down to ashes.

The cooling process was underway, fire officials said, as of reporting time.
