DUBAI: Rana Fawad, the owner and chairman of the Lahore Qalandars, is hopeful that his franchise will not let down the fans in the forthcoming season.
Talking to Geo.tv in Dubai after the unveiling of the Pakistan Super League trophy, Rana said that Lahore is the heart of Pakistan and this time the Pakistan Trophy will come to Lahore.
“The trophy’s colour is green, our colour is green, Pakistan’s colour is green. So, it motivates me to feel that trophy will be ours,” he said after receiving trophy from Ali Naqvi, the owner of Islamabad, to pose with for a photograph.
“See, I received this from Islamabad. Probably, this can become reality,” he said.
The Qatar based businessman expressed hope that the leadership of Mohammad Hafeez will bring positive changes.
“Hafeez is a very good captain and he knows a lot about our local cricket. I’m very hopeful that he will lead Lahore to success,” Rana said.
Replying to a question, Rana Fawad said that Qalandars are equally loved in Karachi and people of Karachi are eager to welcome Qalandars in Karachi.
“I was recently in Karachi and the reception there was overwhelming. They all wanted to see Lahore Qalandars playing in Karachi. I’m sure Karachi will cheer for us on March 17th,” he said.
