Nawaz Sharif continues to have angina pain, says Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz said on Tuesday that she met former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail, where he continued to have angina pain and the latest recurrence of chest pains was on Monday night.

In a tweet, the former first daughter said that due to Nawaz Sharif’s present condition she would not be able to have a meeting with him on Thursday. She also thanked people for their love and support

After the meeting she briefly spoke to media, saying that in today’s meeting the father and daughter discussed the visit of Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.

“Bilawal took out time to meet Nawaz Sharif and I thank him for this gesture,” said Maryam Nawaz.

The PPP chairman went to visit the former prime minister at the prison. Bilawal following his meeting with the former prime minister told reporters it was the government’s responsibility to provide Nawaz Sharif with the best medical treatment.

In response to a question, Bilawal said he would be willing to meet Maryam Nawaz Sharif. “At the right time or when it is appropriate I will be happy to meet with Maryam Nawaz.”
