Recipe: Prawn Biryani

Who doesn't love biryani? If it were possible, Pakistanis would eat this dish all day and every day! Combining the goodness of this scrumptious rice dish and sea food, we have the perfect plan for dinner. Try this delicious recipe for Prawn Biryani.

Ingredients:

Rice (boiled) 1 1/2 cup

Bay leaf 1

Green cardamom 2

Caraway seed 1/2 tsp

Ginger and garlic paste 1 tsp

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Chilli powder 1/2 tsp

Lemon juice 2 tbsp

Oil 2 tbsp

Onions 1-2

Tomatoes 3-4

Coriander a bunch

Mint leaves a bunch

Green Chillies 3-4

Biryani masala 1-2 heaping tbsp

Salt to taste

Coconut milk 1/4 cup

Method:

Heat oil, add onions and tomatoes and fry.

Add garlic ginger paste, bit of biryani masala, coconut milk and cook.

Add prawns and cook for 5 mins.

Turn off the stove after the gravy thickens.

Assemble boiled rice in a lightly greased pot.

Put a layer of rice, prawn gravy and then rice.

Top it off with green masala.

Put a lid on top and leave it to simmer for 20 mins.

Allow the biryani to rest for 15 mins then serve.
