Mohammad Amir is necessary for the World Cup: Mudassar Nazar

LAHORE: Former Test cricketer and academy director at the Pakistan Cricketer Board (PCB) Mudassar Nazar has stressed the importance of Mohammad Amir in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

“The main bowler who we have been depending on the last few years, Mohammad Amir has a question mark. It is necessary for him to be fit and bowl because the rest of the attack is inexperienced,” Nazar told Geo News on Friday.

The former Test cricketer stressed the importance of Amir taking wickets and returning to the side.

Left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is with the Pakistan cricket team in England but was not included in the 15-member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup. If Amir performs well in the One Day International series against England, he is expected to make the World Cup squad.

Pakistan ranked sixth in ODI’s and winners of the tournament in 1992 will being their ICC Cricket World Cup campaign against West Indies on May 31.
