SAHIWAL: At least five children died Sunday after an air conditioning (AC) unit here in the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital broke down.

According to Sahiwal's Deputy Commissioner, Mian Zaman, temperatures rose in the children’s ward at the hospital, resulting in the children's deaths. The AC unit from another office was taken and installed in the children’s ward, he added.

Moreover, the DC said he has written a letter to the provincial government, informing them of the incident, and said they have initiated an inquiry into the incident.
