LAHORE: The body of a 14-year-old domestic help, with a noose tied around her neck, was recovered from a lawyer's house here in Ichhra on Sunday, police said.

According to police, the minor girl's body was recovered from the residence of lawyer Chaudhry Manzoor Advocate and has been sent for post-mortem. An investigation from all angles has been commenced, police added.

The late 14-year-old's mother told police her daughter was employed at Manzoor's residence some 40 days ago. She said she received a call last night from the lawyer's house, saying her daughter's condition was not good and that she should take her away.

However, when the deceased's mother arrived at the lawyer's house to take her minor daughter, Manzoor's family claimed the girl had committed suicide.

She alleged that her 14-year-old daughter was murdered and appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to get her justice.

"My daughter did not commit suicide. She was murdered," she said.

On the other hand, the police commented that they would soon ascertain the truth once the post-mortem report was released.
