Raiwind man murders wife, mother-in-law with axe in anger

LAHORE: A man attacked his wife and mother-in-law with an axe and killed them here in Raiwind's Khand in the outskirts of the city on Sunday after he failed to pacify her.

According to police, the suspect — identified as Ahsan — had travelled to his in-laws' residence to try and convince his wife, Yasmeen, to return home with him.

However, when she refused, he got angry, attacked her with an axe, and killed her as well as his mother-in-law, Mariyam, before fleeing the crime scene.

Both bodies were sent for post-mortem, police added, saying they have initiated a search for the suspect.
