PM Imran takes notice of rise in 'roti' prices

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday took notice of a recent rise in the prices of roti, or bread, and ordered that previous prices be restored.

PM Imran announced the move during a Cabinet meeting wherein the country's economic situation was pondered upon and important decisions were made.

In a press briefing following the Cabinet meeting, the PM's special assistant on information, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, noted that prayers were offered for the martyrs in Balochistan, Waziristan, and Rawalpindi.

Dr Awan said the premier took notice of the rise in the roti prices during the session and ordered that previous prices be restored. He also advised the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to take measures in this regard, she added.
