Dubbed as “the most complex” tour undertaken by the British Royals, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Pakistan late Monday evening.

And with them came an entourage of foreign journalists and royal correspondents who have been following every move made by Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Their Royal Highnesses also aim to spend time understanding the complex security picture in Pakistan. They want to learn more about the challenges and opportunities presented by the country, both of the past and today.

So how exactly has the visit unfolded?

For US journalist Roby Crilly of the Washington Examiner, the tour by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge feels like a “real sign of things getting better”.

“I'm not much of a royalist but this feels like a real sign of things getting better in Pakistan. Unimaginable during my years there,” he posted on Twitter.

Responding to Crilley, former UK MP Matthew Gordon Banks said, "You are absolutely right Rob. Security in Pakistan has improved immeasurably especially in places like Karachi. Imran Khan and the Army have done a good job."

Guardian’s Alia Waheed said, “There's a lot of good will towards Will and Kate because of Princess Diana's links to the country so there's a genuine warmth in the welcome they are getting from the public.”

Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Rebecca English who has been updating about the royal couple’s visit also has had a few things to say about the country.
