Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry announced on Monday that two major solar panel makers will set up their plants in Pakistan.

The minister tweeted saying that good news is not covered in ‘political plays’, taking a jibe at the recent turbulent political situation created by JUI-F's Azadi March.

He added, “I am happy to announce that world’s two major solar companies’ plants are being set up in Pakistan.”

Chaudhry also added that China’s second largest Lithium battery producer will also set up its workshop in Pakistan. The tweet said that lithium battery powered buses will also be manufactured in Pakistan.

However, the minister, in his tweet, did not identify the name of the companies or the location where they will set up their plants and workshops.

The minister was recently on a visit to China where he met various Chinese officials and the country's business leaders.

The Ministry of Science and Technology had tweeted that Chaudhry had held meetings with the representatives of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation in Beijing.

During the meeting the two parties discussed collaboration related to the manufacturing of solar power units in Pakistan.

The ministry had also tweeted saying that Chaudhry had held a meeting with Skywell Company of China to explore opportunities of launching electric vehicles in Pakistan.
