KARACHI: Violence incidents were reported across the city following the strike call for Saturday by Sindh nationalist parties against the restoration of Sindh Local Government Ordinance 2001, Geo News reported.
All business communities, transporters and party workers are observing complete shutter-down and wheel-jam across the province.
Many people were injured due to aerial firing and stone throwing while more than a dozen vehicles were also burnt in different areas.
In Badin, people protested against abolishing commissionerate system in Sindh while an effigy of Babar Awan was also burnt by the Sindhiani and Awami Tehrik.
One person was sustained injuries in aerial firing in Tando Allahyar while miscreants caused damage to the Sabzi Mandi by setting ablaze many vegetables carts and looting items from the market. Aerial firing was also reported in Sukkur.
The unknown miscreants also damaged many vehicles on Indus Highway near Jamshoro and burnt an oil tanker. Three cars were also set on fire in Hyderabad while several vehicles were also damaged on National Highway in Jacobabad.
Police has arrested 17 people while conducting search operation in different areas and recovered petrol-filled bags from their possession.
