HYDERABAD: Sindh Fisheries Minister Zahid Ali Bhurgri, who is also President PPP Hyderabad, has taken strict notice of the water utility's failure to drain out rainwater, accumulated in different parts of Qasimabad.
Visiting the rain affected areas on Sunday along with DCO Hyderabad Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, the Minister gave 48 hours deadline to the authorities of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to carry out the task.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the drainage system in the area, he directed WASA to make sure that the builders and developers install proper drainage systems in their schemes.
Bhurgari directed WASA to utilise all their resources to drain out the standing water and to clear all storm water drains.
However, the WASA officials accompanying him in the visit informed him that electricity breakdown for more than 2 days had affected their operations.
Sindh Minister Zahid Ali Bhurgri visited the areas of Star Bungalows, Alamdar Chowk, Naseem Nagar, Chandia Village, Bhitai Nagar, Bhitai Town and Marvi Town where he met the residents and listened to their complaints, assuring speedy redress.
