The Punjab police have released a fun and engaging video in which their officers are seen showing off their defence skills while urging people to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.

Shared as a new 'challenge', the video advises people to follow the government's safety protocols to "kick the virus away".

It shows the Punjab police officers punching and kicking an animated blob — depicting the ultrastructural morphology of the novel coronavirus — as it attacks them.

The video also shows women officers slamming the virus away with kicks and punches. In another shot, an official is sitting in a police mobile van with a gun ready but as COVID-19 attacks, he sprays sanitiser on it.

All Punjab police officers are seen wearing face masks while some are wearing surgical ones. Some of them have also protected themselves using gloves.

In the video, the police officers are also seen offering face masks to citizens and explaining their usage to help guide them and protect against the deadly virus.

In another scene, as two Punjab police officers take a short break to break their fast during Ramadan, the virus attacks and they defend themselves using perfectly-aimed punches.

The video ends with two message: "Help us beat the score" and "Follow safety protocols." It has been shared more than 500 times on Facebook and seems to be very popular with people.

"Excellent message," wrote one social media user, while another said he thought the Punjab police officer "will use chittar [slaps]".

Another added: "Corona hy ya football [Is that corona or football]?"
