RAWALPINDI: Eggs price has been increased on arrival of winter as traders are now charging double than the price of eggs in summer.
Presently, price for 1 dozen of eggs is Rs.86 while in summer itwas being sold at Rs.40.
"I have never seen any egg trader or retailer being fined or punished for charging more, by the authorities concerned which encourages them" said Moin Ahmed, a consumer.
During Eid-ul-Azha, prices of everything rise; tomatoes, onions, fruits and even milk and eggs become more expensive. The retailers are fleecing public but the authorities keep mum over the situation, said a shopper Waleed Khan.
The people urged the authorities concerned to take action against those charging exorbitant profit and to fix and monitor the prices for winter and summer; ultimately it would benefit the common man. (APP)
