Five terrorists killed in CTD encounter in Bannu

BANNU: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed Sunday to have killed at least five terrorists during an encounter in the Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a spokesperson of the CTD, the five terrorists were killed during an operation in the Bannu region. He said that they were involved in terrorist activities, target killings, explosions and attacks on security forces.

Three Kalashnikovs/AK-47, 9mm pistols, improvised explosive devices (IED) and other arms and ammunition were seized from the possession of the terrorists, said the spokesperson.

Four terrorists gunned down in Lakki Marwat

On March 29, the Pakistan Army and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Police had gunned down four terrorists in Lakki Marwat's general area of Sheri Khel, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said.

The incident took place on the night between March 28-29, when the army and police conducted a joint intelligence-based operation, the military's media wing had said.

During the intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed and one terrorist was apprehended.
