QUETTA: The Supreme Court has summoned the Chief Minister Aslam Raeesani and provincial Home Minister in Balochistan law and order case, Geo News reported Wednesday.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the Balochistan law and order case at the Quetta Registry today.
The bench expressed anger over not recovering the missing persons. The chief justice remarked that if Balochistan government is helpless, it doesn’t mean that the court is also incapable.
Recovery of missing persons is the responsibility of police and if the provincial authorities are unable to take action, then the CM Balochistan can be summoned, CJ said.
'The federation is not focusing on the law and order situation of the province. Despite the fact that seven or eight secret agencies are working here, situation is still out of control.'
While summoning the sector in-charge of ISI, the CJ said when the prime minister could appear before the court why not the ISI personnel.
Advocate General Balochistan told the court that a meeting was called to discuss the recovery of missing persons on Tuesday which was attended by IG FC.
On this, Justice Khilji remarked that your meetings are not concluding while people are suffering.
