CDA to establish nursing hospital, day care centre
ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) would establish a nursing school for training of paramedics and would set up a daycare centre in the Capital Hospital to facilitate the female medical practitioners of the hospital.

This was announced by the Chairman CDA, Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, while addressing a ceremony to celebrate the Nurses Day here at Capital Hospital on Friday.

Chairman CDA said that the nursing profession is the backbone of the medical services. He said that nurses as professionals and as parents have made important but usually unrecognized contributions in our health services, especially at the grassroots level. They (Nurses) are also concerned with the needs of the older generations to live in dignity in communities that are healthy, well integrated and clean, he added.

He said that even though there is a need for better facilities and modern technology for diagnosis in our hospitals, most of the diseases contracted by our people due to unhealthy life-styles, which mean that we can significantly reduce the cost of our health care system if our people lead healthy lifestyles. Provision of healthy and clean environment is the main focus of CDA. An anti-littering campaign was also launched by CDA, in this regard. (PPI)
