Dr Inayat Lalani suffers heart attack

DALLAS: Dr. Inayat Lalani MD who is the founder Chairman of Muslim Democratic Caucus within Democratic Party suffered a heart attack during a mosque fund raiser in Fort Worth Texas.

He was taken to critical care unit of a local hospital where he was admitted. Special prayers were held for his speedy recovery at various places in North Texas and a number of places in America.

According to details Dr. Inayat Lalani was attending a fund raising reception for Ibrahimi Mosque in Fort Worth when he suffered with a heart attack. A number of doctors were in presence for the fund raiser who helped Dr. Lalani and gave him CPR at the instance. Later he was moved to Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth. His condition is stable now and improvements are recorded in his condition since then.

A large number of community members and friends gathered at the hospital, upon learning of this news. Dr. Inayat Lalani's son Quraish Lalani while thanking all the visitors asked for their prayers. He moreover said that since hospital facility has limited space for visitors so it will be bigger help if people pray for Dr. Lalani that he get well and return home after full recovery, rather than visiting him at this time.

Dr. Lalani is hailed from Junagadh in India; he came to US in early 70's. He was the steering Committee chairman where coalition of Muslim organizations hosted the Ballot Box Barbecue event at Texas Stadium.

The event was participated by more than fifteen thousand Muslims of North Texas; leadership of all political parties spoke to the occasion. Dr. Lalani is a known political activist who has provided leadership to Muslims and given a vision especially after 9/11.

Dr. Lalani is dedicated in achieving rightful stature for Muslims in political discourse and has done a tremendous amount of work on Muslims civil rights. As a visionary and founder Chairman of Muslim Democratic Caucus, Dr. Lalani has created a platform for Muslims within Democratic Party.

He is a known as Muslim activist with a lot of vision, selflessness, skilled and dedicated leader of Muslims in America. The current Co-Chair of American Muslim Democratic Caucus Syed Fayyaz Hassan, President of Muslim Democratic Caucus of Texas Aftab Siddiqui, Mr. Moazzam Syed, Raja Muzaffar Kashmiri, Emad Salem, Emad Hamdan and a number of community leaders visited the hospital to see Dr. Lalani. Special prayers were performed for Dr. Lalani's complete recovery at various mosques and individuals home. South Asia Democracy Watch board members, Dr. Qaiser Abbas, Attorney Tauseef Kamal, Raja Zahid Khanzada, Akramah Khan, Dr, Ghulam Nabi and Qaraqaram thinkers forum convener Siraj Butt and a number of community activists prayed for Dr. Lalani's fast recovery.
