A private airline passenger's unconventional choice of carry-on – a parachute – has gone viral on TikTok, amassing over 1.6 million views, the New York Post reported.

In the video posted by the passenger's wife, Kagan Brooks, her husband, Brandon, is seen boarding the flight with a camouflage-patterned parachute pack strapped to his back.

Despite the seemingly unusual sight, fellow passengers showed no reaction as Brandon casually stowed the parachute in the overhead bin.

TikTok users shared mixed reactions, with some finding it amusing and others applauding the preparedness. It turns out the parachute was not a safety precaution but intended for recreational use at Brandon's destination in Miami.

Brooks clarified in a follow-up video that her husband was bringing his rig for skydiving purposes.

Despite the light-hearted nature of the video, some viewers raised concerns about the feasibility of using such equipment on a commercial plane.

The TSA guidelines allow passengers to transport parachutes in carry-on or checked luggage, provided they are packed separately. However, the TSA recommends arriving 30 minutes early for additional screening.

In the end, the parachute turned out to be more about adventure than emergency preparedness.
