Former US President Donald Trump is all set to secure another 36 million shares of Trump Media & Technology Group as the share price of his company has been tanking since last month’s merger.

Until the stock price of DJT does not nosedive when the market closes Tuesday, the 77-year-old will be owning another chunk of shares in his social media platform Truth Social.

According to the current price, the total share worth would be about $1.3 billion, estimated CNN, adding more value to Donald Trump’s net worth since it has been fluctuating.

Since March 27, the stock price has been half when it started trading, however, there are chances of bouncing back.

As per the SEC filings, mentioned by CNN, "Trump Media can issue more shares to pre-merger stakeholders if the dollar volume-weighted average price equals or exceeds $12.50 for any 20 trading days within any 30 day trading period beginning on March 25."

If the price equals or surpasses $17.50 in the aforementioned timeframe, the full earnout of 40 million shares would take place. So far, DJT has not gone under the $17.50 since March 25.

Michael Ohlrogge, an associate professor at the NYU School of Law, is optimistic that "the earnout conditions will be satisfied at this point, given how high the share price has been."

According to the merger deal, Trump is to get 90% of those earnout shares, which turn into 36 million additional shares.

In total, Trump would be holding a total of 65% of public shares amounting to 114.75 million shares.

Despite, such a large number, legal restrictions bar the businessman from turning the stock into a liquid asset for some time.
