Some users of YouTube Music on iOS are experiencing a bug where the app opens to a black screen on certain Google Accounts, and they are unable to play any songs, 9to5Google reported.

Those affected by this bug can only see the app bar with YouTube Music's logo, search, and profile avatar, as well as the bottom bar.

Additionally, as a result of the issue that started earlier today, users are unable to browse or start playback.

One user facing the issue took to Reddit: "I'm running latest version of IOS and the latest update for YT Music. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app and cannot do anything."

While some users have reported success in using another account to listen with ads, their YouTube Premium subscription and library is only available on the affected one.

Users have had luck switching accounts and listening with ads, but their YouTube Premium subscription and library is only available on the affected one.

The issue appears to be limited to iOS as the Android app is reported to be working normally today.

According to 9to5Google, this is likely a server-side issue since the last app date (version 6.48.3) was released over the weekend.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not fix the issue.

In addition to the black screen bug, some iPhones users have reported issues with the next and previous buttons being replaced by 30-second forward and 10-second rewind buttons.

This feature may be useful for podcasts but not for songs, according to 9to5Google.

This issue appears in "CarPlay" and the system-level "Now Playing" controls on the lockscreen.
