Global artificial intelligence (AI) race is being intensified with every passing day as tech behemoths are incorporating advanced language models to learn and improve their systems for enhanced user experience.

On the other side, American tech giant Apple has not been much vocal about its generative AI plans, unlike other behemoths such as Microsoft but, its iPhones have been equipped with such systems even before ChatGPT’s inception in 2022.

In February, Apple CEO confirmed that the Cupertino-based company is investing in generative AI but the reality tells that iPhone-maker is way behind in the race.

Cook said during Apple’s earnings call: "We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI, and we believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple's unique combination of seamless hardware, software and services integration."

More AI features in Apple’s products will be known when the giant will unravel new software updates for its devices and other products on June 10.

But there are some features which are AI-powered in current iPhones.

Apple has already used AI in its last year’s iOS 17 where you can clone your voice digitally, according to ZDNet report.

Personal Voice learns from on-device information and allow users with speech loss to make their voice for easy communication.

To understand your voice, iPhone asks you to read 150 phrases loudly and then it analyses it using AI and generates new version of it.

If you need to conduct such communication, what you have to do is you need to use the iPhone's type-to-speak tools read your text out loud in FaceTime and third-party apps.
