Google suffers global outage

Google, a US-based search engine behemoth, suffered a global outage Friday after millions of users reported problems with the services, Daily Mail reported.

The problems started showing on Down Detector at around 8am ET as users around the world are sufferance from issues.

The outlet reported that 63% of users are facing issues on the website while 33% underlined problems with searches. A small number of people also highlighted disturbances in Maps.

People have come on X, formerly Twitter, to share their experiences.

One user on X posted a screenshot of their Google Search for “British army”, with the website showing: “Your search — British army — did not may any news results.”

The publication also reported that Google News was alerted with, “Uh-oh, something went wrong. Please try again” and “There are no items to show.”

In 2021, Google said that it had over 4.9 billion active users.

The recent disruption comes a month after the giant witnessed issues with its services.
