A bizarre incident occurred in a restaurant where a man saw his colon coming out of his body the moment he coughed and sneezed at the same time at a restaurant in Florida with his wife.

After he coughed and sneezed simultaneously, the 63-year-old man witnessed a wet sensation and a sharp pain, reported Metro UK.

As he lifted his shirt up, the man saw several inches of his colon out of his body, as the man underwent abdominal surgery recently. He was also told by doctors that his wound had been healed.

Soon after the occurrence, an ambulance took him to the hospital before paramedics also witnessed a three-inch opening with "large amounts of amounts of bowel protruding through".

The doctors operated his abdomen and his bowel was put back into his body with not much loss of blood.

He stayed at the hospital for six days and recovered without further difficulties.

The condition in which a surgical wound opens is called dehiscence. It is believed to occur three-in-100 people. It is also more common in older patients.

Coughing is one of the common reason that could reopen the wound according to American Journal report.
