ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered the caretaker governments in the centre and provinces to replace all the federal and provincial secretaries as well as heads of all the autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies.
According to the ECP directives, all the federal and provincial secretaries be replaced. However, if the caretaker government in center or province deems necessary it can allow a secretary to continue working on his/her post.
The ECP has also directed that the heads of all autonomous and semi-autonomous agencies of the government be changed.
Meanwhile, the political parties had expressed their reservations to the commission regarding favourable appointments made by the past government.
