Julie Bowen will headline the NBC and Universal Television half-hour comedy series Taste, which is currently in development.

Two-time Emmy Award winner will star in a series which is coming from writers and executive producers Justin Shanes (St. Denis Medical) and Nedaa Sweiss (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon).

According to Deadline, Taste follows the clash of cultures at a legacy food magazine in the Bay Area after its acquisition by a Silicon Valley tech mogul.

Moreover, the Modern Family actress stars as the magazine’s traditionalist editor, who must work alongside a young, viral TikTok chef.

Additionally, Bowen will be executive producer for this through her production company, Bowen & Sons, alongside its president, Rachael Field.

As per the publication, Top Chef judge Gail Simmons is also joining as an executive producer who brings her extensive experience as a former special projects director at Food & Wine.

Meanwhile, Bowen has remained active in television and film as she recently appeared in the Peacock comedy-horror Hysteria! and is set to reprise her role as Virginia Venit in the Happy Gilmore sequel, slated for release in 2025.

Furthermore, the series is still in the early stages of development, but it's powerhouse cast and creative team, Taste is shaping up to be a fresh audition to NBC's comedy lineup.
