Cash Warren and Jessica Alba have reportedly parted ways, but the latter, in an interview months before, suggested that their marriage had lost its spark.

In April 2024, the 43-year-old sat with Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt on her podcast BDA Baby.

The Honey actress, in the conversation, opened up about her 17-year-long marriage.

“It’s all rosy for 2 ½ years, but then after that, you become roommates,” she jokingly said. “And it’s just, like, you’re roommates. You’re just going through the motions. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes."

In this context, the insider told People after their separation that "Jess has mentioned over the years though that it's hard to keep the spark."

But at the time, the Fantastic Four actress, who had met Carrey—an assistant director on the superhero film—on its set, said they had tried to keep their marriage smooth by scheduling regular date nights with no phones so they could “just talk,” but they just weren’t “consistent.”

“I would say that being able to communicate when you’re unhappy and nipping it right away instead of letting it sort of, like, fester, and then you have, like, animosity, and it explodes,” she continued.

“We’re on 17 years. He basically stole my 20s and my 30s,” Jessica added. “So, we have the friendship and the comfort of, like, ‘You’re not going anywhere,’ and so, sometimes, you don’t treat those people the best. You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings," the actress noted.

TMZ reported that Jessica and Carren had been nearing a divorce after they tied the knot in 2008.
