Music mogul Jay-Z, one of the most influential figures in hip-hop, has filed a motion to dismiss a civil lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to the report of The Daily Express U.S., other than Jay-Z, the lawsuit also included the name of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is in jail due to s*** trafficking and racketeering charges.
For the unversed, Jane Doe, who filed the lawsuit, claimed that both men raped her after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
However, Beyoncé’s 55-year-old husband filed a motion on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, to dismiss the case.
Jay-Z also stated in the lawsuit that the allegations are "false or highly doubtful,” as the plaintiff’s story contains details that can be proven wrong due to them being false, per the same outlet.
The motion read, “By any objective measure, the fact that nearly every step in Plaintiff's narrative-from her arrival at the VMAs to her interactions with the limousine driver and celebrities to the ride with her father-turns out to be false or highly unlikely casts considerable doubt on Plaintiff's allegation that Mr. Carter raped her, which he did not."
It also mentioned that Doe’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, should be punished for not checking her allegations with "even the most rudimentary diligence."
“To sign a pleading accusing someone of such a horrific crime without adequately vetting the allegation – particularly when the defendant's prominence means that the allegation will be repeated in headlines across the world – is deeply wrong and unethical,” the lawsuit further noted.
