Javed Murtaza Abbasi addresses Pakistani community in Dallas
DALLAS: Acting National Assembly Speaker Javed Murtaza Abbasi has said Pakistan was plundered through corruption in the past and ruined through terrorism but the incumbent government was making efforts improve the situation.

He was addressing a gathering at community leader Hafeez Khan’s residence in Dallas. He said overseas Pakistanis have lot of love for Pakistan despite spending decades abroad.

Speaker Javed Murtaza Abbasi said during the last thirty months the new government has put forward projects which will bridge the gap of last twenty years of lack of progress.

“Now the country is back at a take off stage for sustained development and for a new era of progress,” said he.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif himself is monitoring the projects under taken in collaboration with China.

He said that Pakistan needs investment from overseas Pakistanis. Abbasi said he can assure everyone that this investment will stay secure in Pakistan. He thanked the audience on behalf of parliament and people of Pakistan in recognition for their support for the country.

He urged the overseas Pakistanis to think beyond political divide and work and pray for the success of Pakistan.

Pakistan Consulate General Afzal Mahmood, the host Hafeez Khan, Waqar Khan, Nadeem Zaman and Barkat Basaria welcomed the visiting speaker and accompanied Senator Aghaz Shahbaz Durrani.
