Bindi Irwin just skipped the annual Steve Irwin Gala due to a health emergency.

She was absent however her brother Robert Irwin, attended the event that was held in Las Vegas on Saturday and revealed that Bindi had underwent surgery.

In a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the 21-year-old stated, "She's going to be OK, but surgery — out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them."

He also stated that their mother, Terri Irwin would also be skipping the gala, held in honour of the late Steve Irwin, to help her daughter with the healing.

"She’s just come out the other side of endometriosis and now the appendix goes," the Crikey! It’s the Irwins star continues, adding, "Health is so important — it really is."

Gushing over his sister, Robert also mentioned, "Bindi has become an incredible advocate for women's health, particularly, and I think it’s really important to prioritize getting help.”

Back in March 2023, Bindi had opened up about her diagnosis of endometriosis, sharing her story for the cover story of PEOPLE magazine in August the same year.

She became the first international figure to earn the 2024 EndoFound Blossom Award at EndoFound’s 12th Annual Blossom Ball in New York City.
