Meghan Markle has been hit with a hard truth as royal expert said her popularity is mainly due to her marriage to Prince Harry, rather than her projects.
According to Royal author and broadcaster Hugo Vickers, the Duchess of Sussex’s projects and social media activity wouldn’t attract nearly as much attention if not for her marriage to Harry.
Speaking on The Sun, he added that Meghan’s link to the royal family adds a dramatic element that keeps the public interested with her work and what she has to say.
Discussing her latest statement where Meghan asked people to "tell the truth about her,” a new commentator Samara Gill said, "The fact is she is a constant liar and her whole brand is built on a spin of lies."
"I don't trust a word that woman says. I think it is very, very low for her to insinuate that we should listen to her truth or that the royal family should tell the truth.
"The lack of authenticity in that interview is palpable,” she added. "I don't want to listen to this woman about truth.”
"The fact of the matter is that she is a constant liar."
Agreeing with Gill, Vickers added, "I think Samara and I, as well as others, do tell the truth about her and I don't think she likes it very much."
"No one would actually listen to Meghan Markle if it wasn't for the fact she married Prince Harry,” he continued.
"It's because she's married to Harry it gives the soap opera quality that seems to appeal to everyone.
"Otherwise would not really care about her, a lot of other people are doing stuff similar to her on social media anyway."
During her appearance on Aspire With Emma Grede, Meghan said she wanted people to "tell the truth" about her.
Grede asked her, "If you you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything you would do differently?"
"Yes!" Meghan responded, adding, "I would ask people to tell the truth."
She continued, "My dear friend Serena, she told me years ago: 'A lie can't live forever.’”
