Martin Roberts recently revealed that he tried to renovate his pub in Rhondda Valley.

In a new chat with The Sun, the 61-year-old disclosed that he had to go over the budget in an attempt to renew his eight-bedroom property.

He addressed, "For a man who spends all his time telling people to make sure they stick to their budgets and timescales, I have failed on every single level."

"I'm still smiling but, oh my word, what a challenge it's been. I'll be honest, it's the first commercial property I've ever done,” the TV presenter continued.

Martin also disclosed, “There have been lots of residential houses and flats, but commercial properties have a lot more complications."

Dishing more details about his progress, he said, “I'd say we are 60 per cent there,” after which he revealed that one of the major setback was dealing with planners who insist he prepares for possible floods.
