IBA Karachi awards 1,046 degrees at 2025 convocation

Graduating batch includes 780 graduates from undergraduate programmes, 259 from postgraduate programmes, and seven PhD graduates

IBA Karachi held its convocation for the class of 2025 at the main campus. It marked a momentous occasion as 1,046 graduates were conferred degrees in several disciplines.

The graduating batch included 780 graduates from undergraduate programmes, 259 graduates from postgraduate programmes, and seven PhD graduates.

The convocation 2025 also celebrated the first graduating cohorts of the MS Data Science and MS Marketing programmes.

The chief guest of this ceremony was Minister for Universities and Boards, Sindh, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo. Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Founder, Akhuwat Foundation, attended as a guest of honour.

Dr S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA, applauded the graduating students for achieving this remarkable milestone, which is a testament to their dedication and perseverance. Dr Zaidi stated, “We are now a very diverse community of faculty and students — a coherent group working towards better knowledge and shaping every IBA graduate”.

He further added, “IBA is building value in outstanding students who join our institution, and it is our responsibility to ensure that the best minds in Pakistan receive the best education in Pakistan.”

Dr Amjad Saqib praised IBA as an institution that has produced exceptional young individuals, nurturing them and helping transform them into the best versions of themselves.

He added, “Today is a day of joy and celebration for these young graduates. It marks the rise of a new dawn — the recognition of a milestone achieved.”

Minister Rahoo said that it was an honour to be part of an occasion that celebrates excellence and the promise of a bright future.

He stated that IBA Karachi has long upheld its reputation as one of Pakistan’s premier institutions — known for academic distinction, innovation, and the nurturing of future leaders. He noted that IBA’s AACSB accreditation places it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide.

The convocation ceremony featured the position holders in various degree programmes who were awarded medals, shields, and merit certificates.

Archery & Shooting Champion, Muhammad Ahmad (BS Account & Finance Student, Class of 2024), was awarded the 'Excellence in Sports’ Award.
