Sombr has had a breakthrough year in terms of music but he has not had much luck in the love department yet, despite the feeling being well-documented on his songs.
The 20-year-old musician admitted that although his life tremendously changed with fame as he went on tour, and did the award shows, but “I’m still a man that feels emotions. I’m still very single. And I still deal with some issues that have to do with love,” he said.
The back to friends hitmaker shared that with fame he experienced a loss of privacy which he doesn’t complain about but that changed how he viewed dating and friendships, in conversation with People Magazine.
“I have to always act like I’m being watched. Because I am,” he added.
Sombr’s songs back to friends, Homewrecker, we never dated, and more capture different feelings and stages of love but the Grammy nominated singer doesn’t publicly discuss if they were inspired by his own life, or a work of his imagination.
This was not the first time Sombr has reflected on how his life changed in the past year when his hit track back to friends went viral on social media, and his debut album I Barely Know Her introduced him to thousands of new listeners.
During an interview with Owen Thiele on his podcast, Sombr confirmed that dating is “not in the cards for me right now. It is what it is. My big dream is to get a girlfriend. Please. Not right now, but eventually. That’s like my lifetime dream.”
