WNBA is back with a bang after a short break, and we witnessed Angel Reese shining on court with all guns blazing after lifting fifth title at FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin.

Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard put up a strong show in the Dream’s blowout win over the Sun that held Connecticut to a season low of 59 points.

The Atlanta Dream defeated the Connecticut Sun 103-59 at Gateway Centre Arena on Thursday, September 17.

Howard, who finished with 10 points, eight assists, four steals and one key 3-pointer.

With this 3-pointer, Howard became the league’s only player who scored more than 100 3-pointers in a single season.

“We had a good, hard talk at halftime. We’re still fighting for something come playoffs, and so we’re making sure that we handle our business and that we don’t leave anything up to anybody else,” said Rhyne Howard.

Speaking of her record, she added, “I’m breaking a 3-pointer record every year, so I expect nothing less. Shooters are going to shoot, so I’m going to keep doing that.”

“There are going to be plenty more 3-point records with my name on them,” the confident Howard asserted.

Reese became the first player in WNBA history to score 30 points in just 25 minutes.

She posted 11 of 14 shots, including one 3-pointer, and had three assists and two blocks.

Reese, in a postgame on-court interview, described her performance and said, “I was joking in the locker room that I was very well-rested and ready to play.

“Right now, it’s important to make sure we’re setting the tone and leaving a taste in everybody’s mouth about what the playoffs are going to look like.”

For context, it was Reese’s 30th double-double of the season, and her 12th game with 20 plus points.
