Prince William, Princess Kate welcome emotional decision for Sussexes

Prince William and Princess Catherine were reportedly avoiding a “knee-jerk” reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK, suggesting that things may get better.

It was believed that careful approach was to not say anything that may affect any future meetings or even a reconciliation. However, sources have shared that there may have been a different emotional reason for it.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are no longer angry at Harry and Meghan, and are not trying to keep track of their activities.

“William spent years being furious. Catherine was deeply hurt. But you cannot stay angry forever,” a source told Rob Shuter. “Eventually you stop fighting and simply stop caring.”

That doesn’t mean there has been a reconciliation. In fact, they have gone indifferent to the Sussexes, which they think is a welcome change after the emotional labour.

“Harry and Meghan can live ten miles away or 5,000 miles away — it makes very little difference to William now,” the insider added. 

“He has Catherine, his children, his work and his future. Harry is no longer occupying the enormous amount of emotional space he once did.”

They further explained that the opposite of love isn’t hate but indifference and that where the Waleses find themselves.

“They don’t want revenge. They don’t want another war. They just want to get on with their lives.”
