Reacher renewed for Season 6 even before Season 5 wraps filming

Prime Video has renewed Reacher for a sixth season, extending its flagship action franchise before Season 5 has even finished filming. 

The renewal comes just 12 days after the Season 4 finale and roughly four months after Season 5 was greenlit, marking the first time the series has received two renewals within the same year.

The decision follows another blockbuster performance for the show: Season 4, based on Lee Child's novel Gone Tomorrow and starring Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, drew more than 66 million viewers globally in its first 28 days, surpassing Season 3's numbers and landing among the five most-watched seasons of any Prime Video original series in the platform's history.

Amazon noted that 58% of that audience came from international markets, with especially strong performance in the U.K., Germany and Brazil. 

Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, praised the franchise's staying power, saying, "Reacher hits hard... Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher, he's delivered a performance that has captivated audiences around the world. Reacher is a truly iconic series, and we're thrilled to be on the ride with this extraordinary cast and crew for Season 6."

Season 5 is currently filming in Toronto and will adapt Make Me, the 20th novel in Child's bestselling series, no premiere date has been set, though it's expected sometime in late 2027. 

It remains unclear which book will serve as source material for Season 6.

With the renewal, Reacher becomes Prime Video's second-longest-running scripted series behind Bosch, tied with Invincible. 

The series, which has drawn more than 200 million viewers since its 2022 debut, also stars Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.
