Naomi Campbell finally wins legal battle over five year ban

Naomi Campbell has won a legal fight over a five year ban that stopped her from working as a charity trustee in England and Wales.

The ban came after problems were found at Fashion for Relief, the charity Campbell started about 20 years ago.

The Charity Commission had raised serious concerns about the way the charity was being run. It found problems with its money and how it was managed.

The charity was also got found to have spent only 8.5% of its total money on charitable grants between 2016 and 2021.

Because of these findings, Campbell was banned from serving as charity trustee for almost like five years.

Campbell challenged the decision and has now won her case.

A three person tribunal ruled that Campbell had been “deceived” by Bianka Hellmich, another trustee at Fashion for Relief.

The tribunal still confirmed that there had been “serious misconduct and mismanagement” at the charity.

However, it said the problems involving the charity’s money and the misuse of its funds came from Hellmich’s conduct.

The tribunal also said the problems had been “concealed” from Campbell.

The decision now overturns Campbell’s five year ban and allows her to serve as a charity trustee in England and Wales again.
