Ben Affleck has shared more about his decision to use AI while making his new Netflix movie Animals.
The actor is directing the crime thriller and also stars in it with Gillian Anderson and Kerry Washington.
Affleck said AI was used “for lots of things” while making the movie. However, he did not want to say exactly what those things were.
He explained that talking too much about the technology could spoil the movie for people.
Affleck also believes Animals shows how AI can be used in a good way. He called it “a very human movie.”

The actor said people often see AI as something scary. But he believes that feeling can change when filmmakers learn how the technology works.
“It’s another form of computing … a technological advancement that’s really in keeping with the longstanding series of technological improvements we’ve made in the film and television business,” he said.
At the same time, Affleck does not think AI can simply create a successful movie from a short request.
His comments come after Netflix bought his AI company InterPositive for a reported $600 million.
Affleck will continue working with Netflix as a senior adviser.
He has also said the technology is meant to help filmmakers, rather than make movies on its own.
