Anne Hathaway shares her pregnancy superpower

Anne Hathaway can apparently smell everything — and pregnancy is to blame.

The Devil Wears Prada star, 43, opened up about her third pregnancy during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, while promoting Verity.

And this time around, it isn’t exhaustion that’s giving her trouble — it’s her nose.

“I found out I was pregnant like two and a half weeks before The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour kicked off. And I was just like, ‘How’s that going to work?’ ” Hathaway recalled.

Unlike her first pregnancy, when fatigue was her biggest symptom, Hathaway said this time brought an unusually powerful sense of smell.

“I got really lucky,” she said. “You know, my main symptom during my first pregnancy was fatigue, and that didn’t happen this time. This time my main symptom was… Well, acne, but I had the craziest sense of smell.”

So crazy, in fact, that Hathaway joked she could “smell time.”

“You don’t just smell this summer, you smell all of them. I went back to the 80s. There were many strikes there,” the actress quipped.

Press-tour travel only made things more intense. Between hotel kitchens, elevators and room-service orders, The Odyssey star said she could smell practically everything.

“The perfume was really intense because people I love, they come to be like, ‘Oh my gosh! Hi! Good to see you!’ And you’re like, ‘I love you, eurgghhh’, “ she joked.

Her first-trimester mission was simply to “not dry heave in public.” Now, in her third trimester, the goal has changed: “not waddle in public.”

And pregnancy also cost her a Hot Ones appearance. Hathaway said her doctor advised against eating the famously spicy wings because she “might go into early labor.”
