Michael Douglas opens up about secret relationship with Kathleen Turner: Here's what he said

Michael Douglas claims to have been romantically involved with Kathie Turner after more than forty years of their short fling, confessing the two secretly dated during their time on set of the 1984 film Romancing the Stone, which also starred Kathleen Turner.

While many fans speculated that Douglas and Turner had something more than the famed on screen presence in the movie, the actors never admitted anything romantic occurred between them.

According to Douglas, he and Turner developed a close connection while filming the movie in Mexico and eventually began dating. At the time, however, Douglas was still married to his first wife Diandra Luker; though he states they were separated and their marriage was suffering.

As filming continued, Douglas recalls how he would sneak into Turner's hotel room after each day's filming and conceal their affair from other crew members working on the movie. Even director Robert Zemeckis and co-star Danny DeVito did not realize what was occurring behind closed doors.

After Douglas' wife, Diandra, traveled to Mexico with their one-year-old son Cameron. Turner reportedly told Douglas she did not want to get in the middle of his marriage and as a result the relationship came to an end. Afterward, Douglas stated he returned to his wife.

Previously, Turner has publicly spoken about having feelings for Douglas, but prior to this confession, she never acknowledged they had a romantic relationship.
