King Charles' office's latest announcement has triggered a new debate online, with royal fans overwhelmingly supporing the monarch for his stance.
The British monarch's high-profile visit to the Caribbean has captured the spotlight after the bold move amid demands from the Bahamas, where campaigners have warned the 77-year-old "not to come empty-handed".
The King's decisive stance has sparked a wave of reaction, with many voicing their strong support.
Speaking to GB News, Ann said: “Quite right, King Charles. Why is it just the UK that is being asked for reparations when the Portuguese and Spanish were involved before us? The whole issue is just ludicrous.”
Another supporter, Sandra, added simply: “King Charles is right, absolutely.”
Meanwhile, other social media users have expressed concern about the sensitive nature of the visit, while praising the Palace for adopting a transparent strategy and urging the King's office to ease tension and resolve the situation amicabily.

The reaction comes as details of The King’s autumn tour have been announced, which will include the Bahamas and a visit to Guyana, before The Queen joins him in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The King will not offer an official apology or financial reparations to Commonwealth nations for Britain's role in the historic transatlantic slave trade
The King only acts on government advice, but a Buckingham Palace spokesman said that the visit will "not shy away from the darkest days" of the past.
