Milad Committee holds grand parade in Dallas
DALLAS: Dallas Milad Committee which included Madina Masjid of Carrolton, Mecca Masjid of Garland, Barkaat ul Quran Center of Irving, American Muslim Democratic Caucus DFW, and Pakistan Association of Texas held a grand Milad parade in Downtown Dallas where special guests including City of Dallas Mayor Mike Rollings and Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez addressed to a large crowd of one thousand including men women and children.

The keynote speaker of the event was famous Islamic scholar Dr. Jamil Rathore who came to attend the event from Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering Mayor Rollings said that city of Dallas attracts people from all over as this city is a multi-cultural and abundance of opportunities are available here for people. Mayor Rollings congratulated the Muslim community of Dallas from the people live in Dallas on the joyous occasion of birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

“We all have same desire to leave our country and our city a better place to live for our coming generations,” he said.

Addressing the large crowd Sheriff Lupe Valdez said since Dallas is a multi-cultural county, it is important for all of us to learn each other's customs and traditions in order to bring people together.

Famous Islamic scholar, Dr. Jamil Rathore who came from Pakistan for the event said that it is his faith that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is seeing this crowd and on the day of judgment all of the attendees will have the blessings of the Holy Prophet as he will stand witness of your love and dedication for the final and most beloved Prophet of Allah.

He said that participant of this Milad parade including men women and children, are the fortunate ones who were chosen by Allah to come here and participate in this gala event.

Addressing the crowd American Muslim Democratic Caucus president Syed Fayyaz Hasan said the teachings of Prophet (PBUH) compels us to be merciful to people of all faiths, to our children, to women and to less fortunate then us and to the environment we live in.

He also appealed to people to participate in political process, and help in building a cohesive society for all.

The parade was attended by a diverse group of people including people from Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Kurds and Burmese community of greater Dallas.

Parade started with the recitation of Quran by Hafiz Saim Zaki. Two young children Ibad Ur Rehman and Huria Babar presented flower bouquet to Mayor Rollings and Sheriff Valdez. The Islamic scholar Dr. Jamil Rathore in recognition of their services to Muslim community presented special recognition shields to Mayor Rollings and Sheriff Valdez.

The parade event was conducted by famous Islamic scholar of Dallas Allama Babar Rahmani; he also coordinated the parade through its routes. The parade starting at Dallas City Hall went through Marvel Street and Young Street and came back to Dallas City Hall.

A number of youth boys and girls presented tributes and praises to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and expressed their love for the Prophet. The attendees kept chanting Naats and Hymn in English, Urdu and Arabic and young boys and girls made speeches to highlight the aspects of Prophet (PBUH) as mercy to humankind.

Parade was attended by large number of religious scholars, imams from various Mosques, Naat reciters and volunteers. The list includes Allama Siraj Misbahi, Qari Fazle Rasool, Qari Aqeel Nabi, Ghulam Jhangda, Habib Ayub, Shahjahan, Mahmood ul Hassan, Dr. Zubaur Fatani, Ghulam Jangda, Dr. Aqeel, Dr. Nasir, Dr. Amir Suleman, Dr. Javed Ajamal, Shoaib Khan, Basheer Newalwala,Mushtaque Habib, Haji Qasim, Iqbal Hassan, Moiz Hassan, Malik Akram, Parvez Alam, Ashfaq Aziz, Ashfaq Ahmad, Shakeel Ibrahim, Altaf Noor, Khawar Abbas, Imtiaz Jan, and a number of prominent community leaders of Dallas Fort Worth.

The organizer and President of the Milad committee specially thanked Mr. Ghulam Jangda, Syed Fayyaz Hassan, and Raja Zahid Akhtar Khanzada, for their great efforts in making this Milad parade a big success.
