KARACHI: At least 8 bowlers -including four from ongoing national T20 cup in Karachi- have been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) from bowling in the season, after they were reported twice by the match officials for suspected bowling action.
According PCB sources, 28 bowlers were reported by match officials this season which includes the National T20, Seniors Inter District, U19 regional and U19 inter district tournaments.
Nadeem Javaid of Dera Murad Jamali, Khurram Shahzad of Faisalabad Wolves, Nayyar Abbas of Sialkot Stallions and Jahanzeb Khan of Bahawalpur Stags were reported twice for suspected bowling action by umpires during the National T20 Cup.
Four U19 bowlers suspended for suspected action are Muhammad Naeem, Shafqatullah, Samiullah and Shahbaz Wahla.
PCB launched a crackdown on suspected actions after Saeed Ajmal was suspended from bowling by the International Cricket Council earlier this month.
It is worth mentioning that 28 bowlers reported for suspected bowling action include 17 off-spinners. The bowlers are likely to be summoned at the National Cricket Academy for further tests and remedial work on their bowling actions.
