ISAF Commander offers 'personal apology' over Salala attack: BBC
LONDON: Gen John Allen, the ISAF Commander in Afghanistan has offered 'personal apology' to Pakistan's Army Chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani over the Nato forces' attack on Salala Check Post in November last year that killed two dozens Pakistani soldiers, according to BBC's Urdu website.

The BBC's Urdu website quoting an army official privy to the diplomatic contacts between US and Pakistan over the last week, said that Gen Kayani appreciated ISAF Commander's 'personal apology' but dubbed it as 'insufficient'.

Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani made it clear to the visiting US official that the stand-of is not between the two forces but between two states and therefore only a state level resolution could be sought for the issue.
