Jamaat-e-Islami chief picks apart oil price hike

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the cruel and selfish rulers were bent upon sucking the last drop of blood from the bodies of the masses.

In a statement condemning yet another raise in the POL prices, he said that the corrupt rulers were least concerned about the miseries of the common man who was already groaning under the burden of price spiral.

He said millions of people were unable to meet their both ends meet in the prevailing
situation because of large-scale unemployment, prolonged load shedding and unending price hikes. The prices of POL and the electricity tariff were being increased every week which caused a flood of price hike in every sphere.

The JI Ameer noted that the government had raised the price of diesel, which was an item of general use whereas there was no raise in the price of petrol which was used by the wealthy in private cars.

Hasan termed the present government as the worst and the cruelest government in the country’s history, which was bent upon crushing the masses of the country.

JI Ameer expressed deep grief over the huge loss of life and property caused by the heavy rains and said that there appeared to be little relief activity by the rulers who could not dare to come out of their drawing rooms for the fear of public reaction. (PPI)
