LAHORE: The court on Friday accepted the bail plea of Ali Imran, son-in-law of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, in the case involving torture of a bakery employee in Defense area, Geo News reported.
The Lahore court granted the bail to Ali Imran against the security of Rs 50,000 bonds.
Ali Imran appeared in the police station on Wednesday where police arrested him under Section 109. On Thursday, police presented him before the area magistrate where the magistrate remanded Ali Imran in the police custody for 14 days after brief hearing of the case.
A notice was also issued to the Station house officer (SHO) in connection with Ali Imran’s bail plea while the hearing on the same had been adjourned till today and the court today accepted his plea.
The incident came to light when a CCTV video surfaced on social media websites showing the bakery employee being beaten by guards.
Shahbaz Sharif had directed the administration to include his son-in-law Imran Ali in the investigation of case.
