ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has ordered the Ministry for Water & Power to determine those responsible for the massive power breakdown in the country and take strict action against them.
The massive blackout that occurred across the country on Sunday night was discussed at a high level meeting held at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
According to a spokesman of the Prime Minister House, Minister for Water and Power Ahmed Mukhtar, Finance Minister Saleem Mandviwala and Advisor on Petroleum Asim Hussain were present at the meeting amongst other senior officials.
During the meeting, Minister for Water and Power, Ahmed Mukhtar told the Prime Minister that the power breakdown was a result of a technical failure, adding that power has been restored in eighty percent of the areas across the country and will be restored all over the country by Monday evening.
Mukhtar further said that those responsible for the power breakdown have not yet been identified; however a four member committee has been formed by the ministry to probe the matter.
